Reissued thanks to Awesome Tapes from Africa, recorded in Addis Ababa and originally released in 1977 (under the Derg regime, after the revolution that toppled Emperor Hailu Selassie), it’s Hailu Mergia and the Walias laying down an instrumental master piece. Flowing with a hypnotic, melodic energy it takes you on a journey with a funkiness that prevails throughout, peaking with the anthem "Musicawi Silt” (if you haven’t heard the rest of the album, you’ll surely know this beloved track). Many legends were involved in this project including Girma Beyene, Mulatu Astake, Aster Aweke and Getachew Kassa.
